Below are some pictures of our week:
After a week hiatus with the blog, we're back in action! This week was such a wonderful week.
On Monday, we had science with Shan, and students were introduced to a new species they will be studying for genetic research purposes! They were also given their new spelling words for the spelling challenge next week.
Tuesday was a super special day because our very own Mrs. Carpenter celebrated a birthday! She invited us in for a read aloud that dealt with identity and then gifted us the book Common Threads: Adam's Day at the Market that is set in Detroit's Eastern Market, which just so happens to be her special place. After the read aloud, our class went to County Farm Park for a nature walk with our hike guide, Kelsey. Students got to interact with the park and Kelsey shared with us different areas of the trail that were special to her.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, students got to explore with paint mixing and various painting techniques they will use on their final drafts of their art work. We had such a good time exploring and I'm so excited to get started on their sketches next week.
We ended the week with a trip to Wild Swan Theaters to see Strega Nona. It was such a blast! Hearing the kids laughing and knowing they had such a good time was the highlight of my week.
I hope you all have a wonderful and restful weekend!
